Joe (Thumper) has been with Suburban Swing from the start. He became interested in Swing dancing back in 1999 when he and Jason Warner used to attend at Funky Planet and the Gate. He assisted the UCFV Swing group and currently continues to work as the Doorman for Suburban Swing.
Joe is a unique individual with a particular talent in dance that many will not be able to accomplish. He has mastered swing dancing in his own unique way. Joe is in a wheelchair. He brings to Suburban Swing a warm and welcoming introduction as you enter the doors. As well he cuts up the dance floor with style and flair.
Joe is involved in a variety of volunteer work that includes GF Strong and UCFV International Students. He attended Douglas College, completing the Rec therapy program. His Interests are: Going to the gym, swimming, surfing in Hawaii, wheelchair sports, and of course Joe has a fervor for international women. Joe Skillen is a much loved individual at Suburban Swing and we feel both lucky and blessed to have him on board.
